Critical Mass Katrina Ride
-
The last Friday of August is the 29th. As Critical Mass rides all over the globe, this 29th will hold special significance for us here in New Orleans. It will mark exactly 20 years since the levees broke—one of the breaches was just beyond the two-story building where the Mackies lived in the picture. We will have our regular Critical Mass ride, but we will make a special stop at the Katrina Memorial on Canal St. for a moment of reflection on this devastating event that changed the course of our city. We have registered the ride with @taprootearth, and we ride in solidarity with their program. Ride with us on Friday, August 29th. We meet at 6 p.m. on the Barracks St. side of the French Market and roll out at 6:30 p.m. * Critical Mass NOLA is a volunteer-led, informal community ride. All participants ride at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety.
